Choreography
Madison Hilligoss is a NYC–based choreographer and tap dancer creating rhythm-driven work for stage, film, and theatre. Their choreography blends musicality, storytelling, and style—drawing from American jazz and tap traditions while exploring contemporary rhythmic and narrative landscapes. Madison is passionate about collaboration and crafting work that celebrates individuality, connection, and the expressive power of movement and sound.
Madison most recently choreographed the Off-Broadway revival of Sophie Treadwell’s play Machinal which played at New York City Center Stage II June- July 2025. This reimagining was distinct in its infusing of sound and movement through foley, tap dance, percussive underscoring, and movement storytelling created by Madison.
“Madison Hilligoss is a movement artist with aesthetic wisdom beyond their years. They are a born leader and earn the respect of every room because of their unmatched understanding of movement as storytelling. They are a brilliant collaborator, an innate dramaturg, and a kind soul.” (Amy Marie Seidel, Director)
